As a Paramedic Intern, you will engage in a structured, competency-based training program designed to prepare transitioning service members for employment as entry-level paramedics within a civilian emergency medical services system. Under the direct supervision of licensed paramedics and Field Training Officers, you will participate in emergency and non-emergency response operations within a controlled and closely supervised training environment. In this role, you will function in a training capacity only and will not serve as the primary patient care provider. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments and assist in the delivery of basic and advanced life support interventions in accordance with established clinical protocols and under direct oversight.You will be trained in critical prehospital skills, including airway management, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and trauma care, while developing the clinical judgment and decision-making capabilities required in high-acuity environments. In addition, you will be expected to complete accurate and timely electronic patient care documentation and demonstrate adherence to all operational procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.This internship emphasizes the practical application of medical knowledge, professional conduct, and effective teamwork within a civilian EMS framework. Ongoing evaluation and mentorship will be provided to ensure progressive skill development and readiness to perform at the level of an entry-level paramedic upon program completion.*No independent duty or unsupervised patient care is authorized in this skill bridge. Pt care will be monitored by preceptor (licensed paramedic) at all times.
