The Electrician A must have the ability to fabricate and install rigid & aluminum E.M.T., plasti-bond, and PVC conduit; use mechanical benders; use hydraulic benders 2” - 4”; fabricate and install conduit supports; wire and cable installation by hand, by machine and in cable trays; MCC and switchgear work; troubleshoot motor controls (energized); fabricate and install cable trays; sizing thermal overloads, breakers and fuses; batteries and battery charger installation; emergency power supply system; bus duct installation; install junction boxes, tagging and term; install and terminate motors (480V & down); install and terminate transformers (480V & down); termination of stress cones and cable splicing; proper use of electrical equipment including hydraulic crimping tool; blueprint reading; national electric code requirements; hi-voltage cable termination; hi-voltage electrical equipment; use of electrical equipment including V.O.M., AMP meter, 1000 volt insulation tester; proper use of equipment including winch truck and man lift-JLG lift. They must also possess good communication skills, know and understand all applicable electrical OSHA rules and regulations, and know the proper use of safety equipment. The mechanic A generally has over 4 years experience in the electrical field.

  • Install and terminate motors and transformers (480V & down)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of all applicable electrical OSHA rules and regulations
  • Proper use of safety equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand national electric code requirements
  • Experience with high-voltage cable termination and electrical equipment
