Operation Groundwork is an education, mentorship, and hands-on opportunity to learning any aspect of Farming. It is available nationwide, but contingent on farm and education opportunities in the area. Training programs are tailored to the service member based upon location, season, and opportunity.
ABOUT THE JOB
Transitioning service members that desire to be farmers or ranchers have many opportunities thru nonprofits, USDA, and land grant institutions to learn the skills to feed America. Farmers/Ranchers can learn biology, mechanics, electronics, and other related skills. This program will work with Service Members to determine opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn various aspects of farming and ranching
- Participate in education and mentorship programs
- Apply skills to contribute to agricultural productivity
QUALIFICATIONS
- Desire to become a farmer or rancher
- Interest in learning skills like biology, mechanics, and electronics
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
None, adaptive ideas are available for those with physical or mental challenges.
