Netskope Skillbridge Program Operations Engineer

Skillbridge teammates will work within government-authorized cloud computing environments conducting system operations and maintenance based on inputs and requirements from internal customers. This position aligns with the “Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist” DoD Cyber Workforce Role. The team utilizes cloud-native DevSecOps methods and platforms which include Linux, Kubernetes, KVM, OpenStack, and the Atlassian DevOps suite. Job responsibilities include monitoring, coordination, incident handling, and service improvement in a team setting, including a rotating 24x7 on call schedule.

ABOUT THE JOB

About the role:Are you interested in helping us build from the ground up? This is an exciting opportunity to get in at the ground floor level of a new business unit, Netskope Government Services. A successful candidate will quickly build knowledge of Netskope’s FedRAMP initiative working as an Operations Engineer. Primary responsibilities will revolve around performing planned work in our government-accredited environments with a focus on ensuring standards adherence and maximum customer uptime across all services. This will require individuals capable of working with teams to plan, schedule, perform, and validate production changes across multiple disciplines. Attention to detail and the ability to begin with ambiguity and end with a process are skills that will be highly regarded.Responsibilities: • Linux Administration• Perform ticket management. Record trouble tickets and assign based upon urgency and issue• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise• Perform, coordinate, and communicate regular maintenance system backups and ensure data integrity• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, under the guidance of internal service owners, and support deep-dive investigation• Create work effort estimates for assigned tasks and support prioritization and release management• Proactively identify and communicate active defects to ensure maximum service availability and performance• Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve application issues after normal business hours• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to Linux administration and network operations• Conduct regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary measures to mitigate risksJob Requirements/Qualifications:• Remote/Hybrid opportunity• US citizens physically residing in the US, as required by the US government• Active US Secret clearance, or willingness to obtain a clearance• Minimum of 5 years of Linux System Administration experience• Minimum of 5 years of Network Administration experience• Experience in Shell, Python, or similar scripting languages is a plus• Understanding of basic switching, routing, load balancing principles, and approaches to operating systems and services at scale• Proven ability to multitask and work within a fast-paced environment• Good understanding and experience with Linux/Unix platform system administration• Familiarity with security concepts (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems) and experience implementing security measures• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail• Strong communication and teamwork abilitiesEducation:• BS in CS, EE or equivalent requiredIf you are a dedicated Linux and Network Administration Operations Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization, we would love to hear from you.
