This program provides an opportunity to utilize skills and knowledge pertaining to the Electrical and Instrumentation field within a mining environment. Participants will gain exposure to a wide range of operations, including underground, surface, and process facilities. Participants will work alongside experienced tradespeople and mentors, gaining practical experience with equipment and systems critical to safe and efficient mining operations.
Responsible for safely performing preventative maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems used in mining operations, including power distribution centers, switchgear, motors, motor controls, process controls, and instrumentation. Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation circuits are required. Experience with PLC control, troubleshooting and basic programming as well as variable frequency drives (VFDs), is preferred. Must be willing to work shifts, overtime, and callouts as needed, and perform other duties as assigned while following all safety procedures
