CNC Machinist
Controls operation of single or multiple production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines for the process of manufacturing products. Adjusts machine setting to complete tasks according to specification, accurately and in a timely fashion. Reads, interprets and follows blueprints, sketches, and product/engineering specifications. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures and certify/test product.
ABOUT THE JOB
• Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures.• Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.• Uses computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions.• Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools and machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.• Some machines may be numerically controlled.• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures and certify/test product.• Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.• Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.• Pursuant to International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), applicants for SELECT positions will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residence, or U.S. Immigration Status in order to meet the minimum qualifications for those select positions. All inquiries related to citizenship are asked solely to comply with ITAR and EAR export licensing requirements.• Good regular attendance required. • Other various duties as needed or as assigned.
