Florida Highway Patrol

The Florida Highway Patrol is excited to offer a SkillBridge opportunity that will allow service members to obtain the skills that will lead to an exciting career in law enforcement. Service members participating in the Communication Officer SkillBridge opportunity will have the opportunity to apply for a wide variety of law enforcement positions both sworn and non-sworn within the Florida Highway Patrol and the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. The Florida Highway Patrol will implement a Communications Training and Evaluation Program that establishes guidelines and objectives to achieve an effective and efficient training and evaluation program for new Regional Duty Officers and Call Takers. The minimum length of training shall not be less than fourteen (14) weeks and the maximum length shall not exceed twenty-four (24) weeks. The training program will be administered in the following order: Module I - Orientation, Module II - Call Taking, Module III - Radio, Module IV - Combination, Module V - Shadow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the Communication Officer SkillBridge opportunity.
• Apply for a variety of law enforcement positions within the Florida Highway Patrol and the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
• Complete training modules including Orientation, Call Taking, Radio, Combination, and Shadow.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Service members eligible for SkillBridge participation.
