This an opportunity to intern for the Los Angeles Airport Police for 30 days.

ABOUT THE JOB

An Airport Police Officer is a sworn peace officer, authorized to carry a firearm who enforces federal and state regulations, City of Los Angeles ordinances, and security, traffic, and safety rules and regulations; engages in law enforcement activities, including uniformed foot, vehicle, motorcycle, bicycle patrol and plainclothes assignments, arrest, and report writing at Los Angeles World Airports; provides information to the public regarding locations and operations of the Department; and does related work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enforces federal and state regulations, City of Los Angeles ordinances, and security, traffic, and safety rules and regulations
• Engages in law enforcement activities, including uniformed foot, vehicle, motorcycle, bicycle patrol and plainclothes assignments
• Performs arrests and report writing at Los Angeles World Airports
• Provides information to the public regarding locations and operations of the Department

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must pass a background check
• Must pass medical screening
• Must pass a Physical Fitness Qualifier (PFQ)
• Must pass a psychology test
• Must pass a polygraph

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

Must pass a precursor background check, be 20 years of age or older, eligible to work in the U.S, no felony convictions, a high school diploma or equivalent, and fill out a city of LA Police Officer application and select Airport Police.
