Academic Affairs
This internship program helps military members with their PhD degree in a STEM discipline to develop and refine the skills required academic positions in Institutions of Higher Education. Individuals would engage in instructional activities, conduct research in STEM fields, and engage in service activities within the university, community, and profession. Professional development opportunities will also be available during this internship.
ABOUT THE JOB
The military member will join an academic department of the university in much the same way a visiting faculty member would join during a sabbatical, visiting professor, or postdoctoral appointment. The military member is expected to make progress toward establishing a foundation upon with to build their scholarly portfolio, engage in instructional activities and professional development, and perform service, relevant to their disciplinary area, to the university, community, and profession.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Join an academic department in the capacity similar to a visiting faculty member
