The Fuel Systems Specialist DoD Skillbridge intern will train to learn to conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance/monitoring of liquid fuel stations, compressed natural gas (CNG) processing facilities, and related equipment (i.e., pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical).

ABOUT THE JOB
Occasionally directs helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, volunteers or temporary employees and may temporarily act in a higher capacity.Inspects, repairs, and calibrates CNG dispensing equipment and liquid fuel dispensing equipment.Services and repairs compressors, valves, controls, , fuel hoses, fuel nozzles, card readers and related equipment.Performs routine inspections and logs outcomes. Monitors CNG equipment and runs diagnostics to identify system points of failure.Manages inspection and preventative maintenance schedule to ensure compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and to qualify for Federal Transportation Authority (FTA) grants.Completes maintenance requests from work orders and performs routine preventative maintenance by draining equipment filters, checking crankcase oil levels, maintaining fluid levels, checking dispensers, cleaning compressor skids and equipment, and replacing or repairing gas leaks.Maintains records, reports, and inventory by updating and reviewing daily maintenance and delivery reports, downloading meter readings, and reconciling fuel usage.Contacts vendors for pricing, maintaining parts and tool inventory lists, and managing the shipping and receiving of parts and tools.Communicates with vendors, contractors, federal regulators, county regulators, and other city departments/units to transmit information or coordinate repairs, installations, or diagnostic work.Understands and interprets blueprints, fiberoptic network diagrams, and electrical schematic drawings related to CNG duel dispensing facilities and performs diagnostics and troubleshooting of error reports.
