This opportunity is for mechanically inclined Military individuals to be trained in their last 180 days of service with International Drilling Equipment as a Field Service Technician which is an important part of the IDE’s service model. The technician maintains , troubleshoots, and repairs any issues associated with the equipment which IDE provides to customers.
Summary of position: Responsible for the effective repair of machinery and components at high levels of quality. This individual partners with the service manager to:• Recondition and repair all equipment components and systems as assigned.• Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases in repairs.• Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles.• Provides great customer service for both external and internal (co-workers) customers.Essential Duties: 1) Recondition, repair equipment and components.a. Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned.b. Order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs.c. Ensure the repairs required are executed in a safe and effective manner.d. Ensure that all repairs are completed as assigned.e. Ensure the cosmetic appearance upon completion as required.f. Ensure all parts and materials not used are returned per guidelines.g. Maintains the work area in a clean and safe conditions.2) Maintain Good Working Records for Time, Parts, Supplies and Outside Purchases in Repairs.a. All record-keeping methods are followed per instructions.b. All cost-related items are included in the job work order.c. Ensure all records kept are legible or in compliance with established methods.3) Maintain and Care for Shop Tools, Equipment and Vehicles.a. All specialty tools used on the job are obtained using the methods established.b. All tools and special equipment used for repairs are clean before returning them.c. All specialty tools used on jobs are returned to the original location in working condition.4) Communicate with Others Professionally.a. All communication with customers shall be conducted in a manner reflecting respect and honesty and in sync with IDE’s culture and values.b. All communications with co-workers shall be conducted respectfully and professionally following the “golden rule”.Job RequisitesThe individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, self-motivated, takes initiative, a leader of people, ethical, intelligent, and able to adapt to all the forces around them - customers, suppliers, co-workers, and manufacturer’s employees.Education/Training/ExperienceA technical school certificate or two years equivalent experience in mechanical repairs.General skill requisites• Strong mechanical skills.• Good communication skills.• Good, safe work habits.• Specific skill requisites• A good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions.• Able to perform repairs for all major equipment systems.Physical RequirementsLifting up to 75 poundsBending frequentlyStooping and twisting frequentlyUse of hands, fingers and wrists frequentlyWork EnvironmentUsually outdoors may be subject to cold, heat or weather conditions.
