Fenton Glass Service GlazierTrainee Program
We are seeking a full-time Glazier-Trainee to join our team. The Trainee will learn to install, remove and measure glass in a variety of settings. We are looking for someone with an eye for detail. In this role, you will learn to interact with customers with their glass needs, such as shower doors and mirrors, broken glass, fogged window glass/insulated glass replacement and commercial glass such as doors (including frames, hardware, and closure).
ABOUT THE JOB
Responsibilities• Measure and cutting glass using measuring tape, plumb lines and levels to ensure the glass fits properly in various applications.• Installing glass in windows, doors, storefronts, using suction cups to lift glass into place.• Installation of shower doors and mirrors in bathrooms, learning about the different options for hardware for shower doors (Color and Style)• Installation of mirrors, measuring and cutting to specific sizes.• Working with specialty glass for shelving or tabletops, cutting glass to perfect dimensions to fit.• Handle and transport glass with care to prevent breakage or damage.• Install glass in windows, doors, storefronts, skylights, and more.• Remove old or broken glass and putty from frames.• Replacement of fogged insulated windows, cutting out old glass and installing new glass.• Installation of glass in window sashes and moldings, frames.• Sealing glass into place using weather seal around pane edges to seal joints and caulking around windows.• Learning about Residential and Commercial glass products/specifications to determine the type and thickness of glass, frame, and materials needed for a specific job.• Drive glass trucks to installation sites to unload glass, equipment, tools, etc.• Comply with property safety policies and procedures.• Establish positive relationships with customers by communicating their glass replacement needs.• Quality customer service on the job.• Ensure all tools and supplies are transported from each appointment.• Collect payments from customers when required.• Communication, ability to communicate with co-workers and customers.• Report any complaints or issues to management.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications• Knowledge of a tape measure, how to ready a tape measure.• Knowledge of hand powered tools and small equipment.• Able to lift and carry large heavy objects up to 75 lbs.• H.S. diploma or GED• Valid driver’s license/acceptable driving record/reliable transportation• Exceptional attendance• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.• Strong communication skills.• Able to work independently and in a team setting.
