The ESI SkillBridge Field Engineer Program provides a hands-on opportunity designed to transition Service Members into the commercial construction industry through real-world jobsite experience. Participants support active construction projects by assisting Superintendents and site teams with daily operations, field documentation, subcontractor coordination, safety enforcement, quality control, and schedule support while upholding ESI’s standards for safety and quality. The program combines on-the-job training with structured instruction led by experienced field leadership, providing exposure to construction fundamentals, drawings, RFIs, site layout, materials management, and jobsite leadership.
ESI’s Field Engineer provides project support to the site team in managing the daily activities and execution of the construction project, including oversight of field staff and subcontractors, to successfully complete projects within scope, budget, and schedule. The Field Engineer is also responsible for maintaining ESI’s standards of excellence in safety, quality, and productivity and ensures that all workers and subcontractors abide by ESI’s standards. The Field Engineer is a vital partner who assists and supports all other team members, focusing efforts on augmenting the Project Superintendent. Whether in the field or in the office, the Field Engineer understands the global needs of the project and is adept at prioritizing and providing tactical support to the team.
