Engineering Consulting Internship
As an Engineering Consultant Intern, you will be working alongside Munro's engineering team gaining hands on experience in manufacturing and design optimization, cost reduction ideation, and benchmarking. You will have the ability to participate in Defense and Commercial programs in a wide range of industries.
ABOUT THE JOB
Munro is looking for qualified individuals familiar with US Forces Munitions and Ground Vehicle project experience to help guide design, fabrication, assembly and related manufacturing facilities development. - Nonnuclear Ammunition System – Assembler, Technician, Ordnance Specialist, R&D Specialist, Capability Developer Individuals should have a thorough understanding of different types of ammunition. This includes knowledge about the components and materials that are used in each type of round as well as how these materials interact with one another under various conditions. Other skill sets may include managing munitions stockpile while adhering to safety regulations such as storage, transport, handling, maintenance, and delivery. Additional ammunition R&D or assembly experience will provide much desired knowledge on tooling, process and validation of cartridges or projectile development.- Ground Vehicle Systems Engineer/ Transportation/ Equipment Mechanic Individuals should have experience in electrical and mechanical to support Combat Vehicle system planning, design, development, maintenance, and repair. Coordination with primes and government personnel is required to assist in planning, coordinating, and executing system activities such as analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving problems encountered with vehicle level issues. Familiarity with engineering tasks including risk management, data management, and trade study analysis in addition to Project Management tasks including WBS Development, IMP, IMS and cost analysis is also desired. Having hands-on combat vehicle maintenance experience provides an understanding of the impact service has on operator safety and reduced vehicle efficiency.Skills Desired:- Must be a US citizen or green card holder- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.- Familiar with Systems Engineering and DoD Acquisition processes.- Familiar with systems/subsystems for Munitions and/or Ground Combat Vehicles.- Willingness to travel to various customer and contractor facilities (20% Travel).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work alongside Munro's engineering team in manufacturing and design optimization.

- Manage munitions stockpile adhering to safety regulations including storage, transport, handling, maintenance, and delivery.
- Support Combat Vehicle system planning, design, development, maintenance, and repair.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with US Forces Munitions and Ground Vehicle project experience.
- Thorough understanding of different types of ammunition and their components.
- Experience in electrical and mechanical systems to support Combat Vehicle systems.
- Knowledge in Systems Engineering and DoD Acquisition processes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Willingness to travel to various customer and contractor facilities (20% Travel).
