Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer (HMER)
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer, performs one or more of the following mechanical duties throughout appropriate production operations in Maintenance Division which involves the disassembly, repair/rebuild, modification, adjusting and functional test of a variety of electrical and electro-mechanical accessories, units and components used on heavy mobile and tactical vehicles.Disassembles, repairs/rebuilds, adjusts and functional tests a variety of electrical and electro-mechanical accessories and components such as starters, personnel heaters, alternators, instrument panels, master switches, distribution boxes, transmission range selectors, diode boxes and infrared power packs, etc. Disassembles units and checks for defective parts. Cleans, repairs/replaces component parts, reassembles, checks tolerances and makes adjustments required to meet specifications. Performs functional test, using available test equipment and procedures. Uses DMWR's, publications, blue-prints, diagrams, etc. necessary to accomplish repair/rebuild duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs one or more mechanical duties in Maintenance Division involving disassembly, repair/rebuild, modification, adjusting and functional test of electrical and electro-mechanical accessories, units and components on heavy mobile and tactical vehicles.
- Disassembles units like starters, personnel heaters, alternators, instrument panels, and checks for defective parts.
- Cleans, repairs/replaces component parts, reassembles, checks tolerances and makes adjustments required to meet specifications.
- Performs functional tests using available test equipment and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of DMWR's, publications, blue-prints, diagrams necessary to accomplish repair/rebuild duties.
