Brunswick's SkillBridge internship program offers top tier training with the global leader of marine propulsion, providing service members with the knowledge and abilities to build a successful career in the recreational marine industry. By the completion of this program, service members will gain comprehensive experience in the technical aspects of boat building, welding, and assembly. The program enhances the competencies and skillsets honed during military service and provides networking opportunities to boost job placement upon completion of military service. Our internship program includes a mix of: training courses (in-person), on-the-job training, a mentorship experience with a Brunswick veteran employee, and career networking with Brunswick's marine divisions. Brunswick is committed to providing the education and experience needed to obtain gainful employment within the company or through our vast network of marine service dealers throughout the country.

ABOUT THE JOB

Position Summary:This internship provides experience as a Welder to support delivery of world-class service to Brunswick's client. Welders will provide quality craftsmanship that brings exceptional durability, performance, and comfort to a new generation of boaters. This position is located at our Harris Boats facility in Fort Wayne Indiana.Key Responsibilities/Training Objectives:• Perform all aspects of job in a safe and quality conscious manner• Operate welding equipment according to job guidelines and verify work to print(s)• Performs basic weld inspection and complete required paperwork in a timely manner• Ability to operate air tools such as screw guns, drills, sanders, and grinders• Ability to operate chop saws and band saws• Knowledge of fabrication parts• Communicate and coordinate with other departments as needed• Report supply needs, equipment breakdowns, shortages and poor-quality materials to supervisor or lead Preferred Experience and Skills/Learned Skills from program:• Learn and execute Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)/Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) techniques • Learn and execute Aluminum GMAW & GTAW techniques• Receive hours and experience towards a technical welding certificate • Work independently in a fast-paced team environment• Read prints/work instructions• Read and complete process sheets

RESPONSIBILITIES
