This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to support the Air Vehicle Planning System (APS) mission. In this mission we support US Air Force mission planning requirements in support of the US Strategic Command. The selected candidate will leverage their skills in performing integration, formal and informal manual verification and validation of new and updated mission planning software.
Primary Responsibilities:o Testing all product aspects within the software development lifecycle through software deliveryo Create/run manual testing procedures to evaluate software performanceo Work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product developmento Communicate software deficiencies and make improvement recommendationso Adhere to Agile processes and software testing best practices/standardso Use Agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git to manage work and collaborate with teamso Support creation and updating of all relevant test documentation and specifications for the applicationo Identify potential testing roadblocks and collaborate with the team to resolveo Plan and estimate testing tasks and work to improve process performance metricso Closely coordinate with automated testing engineers to bridge test coverage gaps and improve continuous integration processo Attend various meetings including the software development team, program management and user communityo Support metrics program by creating, collecting and tracking test related metrics
Basic Qualifications:o US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret clearance during your employment.o Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline or related field. Candidates without a degree but with 4+ years of experience may be considered.o Experience with writing and/or developing test procedureso Knowledge of delivering an entire piece of a system or applicationo Knowledge of software design patternso Knowledge of Agile Development methodologieso Experience with a version control system (e.g., Git)o Experience with an issue/problem tracking system (e.g., Jira)o Experience with multiple operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, LINUX, etc.)o Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint) team player who can express and explain their ideas to othersPreferred Qualifications:o US Citizen with at least an active Secret clearanceo Experience with DoD mission planning applicationso Experience with USSTRATCOM Nuclear Planning processo Experience with the Air Vehicle Planning System (APS) for mission planningo Experience with at least one Relational Database Management System (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)o Experience with SpiraTest software testing application
