The HASA Regulatory Affairs & Chemical Compliance Fellowship gives transitioning service members hands-on experience in environmental compliance, chemical safety, regulatory reporting, permitting, inspections, and risk management within a chemical-manufacturing company.This is a hybrid fellowship. Fellows must be able to work remotely and report to HASA sites in Southern and Northern California for onsite training, inspections, meetings, and project support. Fellows must have access to a computer and reliable internet connection for remote work, training, documentation, and compliance-tracking tasks.This program is designed to help service members build practical skills for future careers in regulatory affairs, environmental health and safety, chemical compliance, manufacturing, or engineering support.
The Regulatory Affairs & Chemical Compliance Fellow will support real compliance work for a chemical-manufacturing company.The fellow will work with compliance leaders and site teams to help with:Reviewing chemical inventories and Safety Data SheetsTracking permits, inspections, and reporting deadlinesSupporting environmental and chemical compliance reportsHelping prepare for audits and inspectionsReviewing site records and compliance documentsIdentifying compliance gaps and safety concernsTracking corrective actionsSupporting onsite visits at HASA facilities in Southern and Northern CaliforniaCompleting remote documentation, training, and compliance-tracking workThis is not a classroom-only program. Fellows will learn how compliance requirements are used in daily operations and how strong compliance programs help protect employees, facilities, the public, and the environment.
Preferred applicants are transitioning enlisted service members E-6 and above, or officers O-2 and above, from all military branch with relevant leadership, technical, operational, or compliance-related experience.Preferred military backgrounds include CBRN, bioenvironmental engineering, emergency management, damage control, marine safety, environmental protection, firefighting, engineering, utilities, maintenance, logistics, fuels, transportation, supply, or industrial operations.Strong-fit examples include - Army 74D/74A; Navy DC, HT, MA, AO, MM, EM, AE, and LS; Marine Corps 5711, 5702, and 7051; Air Force 4B0X1, 3E9X1, 3E Series, and 2F0X1; Coast Guard MST, DC, MK, and EM; and equivalent officer or enlisted specialties from any branch.Applicants from other military occupations may also be considered if they have relevant experience, technical aptitude, leadership experience, or a demonstrated interest in regulatory compliance, environmental programs, safety, chemical manufacturing, or industrial operations.

This position will be hybrid. Fellows will work remotely from home, attend scheduled virtual meetings, and be required to visit HASA site locations in Southern or Northern California based on their home location, training plan, and program needs.Fellows must have reliable access to a laptop, internet/Wi-Fi, and a suitable remote work environment.Onsite training may include audits, environmental compliance activities, corporate governance support, inspections, and other hands-on learning opportunities.
