To provide military members with an opportunity to increase their military training and skills in a Career with WR-ALC for the Depot Inspection, Maintenance and repair of USAF aircraft, avionic/electronic devices and aerospace ground equipment.

ABOUT THE JOB

Technicians frequently lift and carry, unassisted, items weighing up to 18 kilograms(40 lbs.). They are sometimes required to lift and carry items weighing more than 23 kilograms (50 lbs.) with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.Some workers may be required to work outdoors, in parked aircraft, at high places utilizing man lifts, in confined spaces, or in hazardous noise areas. Workers may be exposed to vibrations and extremes of heat, cold, and inclement weather. Dirt, dust, grease, solvents, and aircraft fluids may be common in the work-place. Work involves the possibility of cuts, bruises,Muscle strains and injuries from falls from scaffolds or ladders or from lifting equipment. Some works may be exposed to toxic fumes and high-pressure air and fluids. Workers may berequired to wear appropriate safety gear such as protective eyewear, fall arrest lanyards, hearing protection, respirators, etc. The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending,Crouching, reaching, and stooping. Climbing and working in high places may be required. Some work may require the aid of magnifying lenses, eye loops, and microscopes to accomplishRepairs on miniature components in high and restricted places, under conditions of heat and cold and outside in inclement weather. They are exposed to the possibility of electric shocksBurns from electrical or RF energy or hot solder; and cuts and bruises

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Depot Inspection, Maintenance and repair of USAF aircraft, avionic/electronic devices and aerospace ground equipment.
  • Frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 lbs.) unassisted.
  • Work in various environments such as outdoors, in parked aircraft, at high places, in confined spaces, or in hazardous noise areas.
  • Use of weight handling equipment or assistance from other workers for lifting items over 23 kilograms (50 lbs.).
  • Wear appropriate safety gear and adhere to safety protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5-years of technical aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Must be cleared for a security clearance.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions including lifting heavy weights, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and climbing.
  • Capability to work in environments with exposure to dirt, dust, grease, solvents, and aircraft fluids.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

Military personnel with at least 5-years of technical aircraft maintenance experience in all branches of services and must be cleared for a security clearance

WR-ALC offer real-world training and work experience in demand fields of work allowing members to be tasked evaluated and certified for possible employment at Robins AFB, Georgia.
