Training provided towards that of a Port Security Specialist with DHS-USCG
This position is located at United States Coast Guard (USCG) Sectors. The incumbent serves as a port security subject matter expert responsible for the implementation and enforcement of Executive Order 10173, as amended, the Ports and Waterways Safety Act of 1972, as amended, Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) of 2002, Security and Accountability of Every Port (SAFE Port) Act of 2006, and other Coast Guard maritime security enabling authorities at the Sector level. The incumbent takes a leadership role in the activities of the Area Maritime Security Committees (AMSC) to include but not limited to: identifying potential members and providing the necessary regulatory documents to appoint members; maintaining AMSC records and documents necessary for reporting requirements; and leading the AMSC’s mandated duties to ensure that area maritime security plans and assessments are developed and conducted in accordance with MTSA. Responsible for the coordination, planning, development and assessment of MTSA required maritime security exercises as well as other maritime security exercises and events as necessary. The incumbent leads or assists in the review of Facility Security Plans (FSP) and Alternative Security Plans (ASP) and participate in MTSA facility inspections to ensure compliance with approved FSPs and ASPs. Serves as the focal point on maritime security issues for industry stakeholders, Federal, state and local officials.
Secret security clearance required for this position. Work Station Account eligibility required.
