Construction/Field Inspector
The Field Inspector ensures construction projects meet required standards, specifications, and safety guidelines through regular on-site inspections, coordination with project teams, and detailed reporting. Responsibilities include reviewing construction materials, overseeing field testing, and adhering to project-specific Health and Safety Plans (HASP). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and an effective communicator who supports quality and compliance throughout all phases of a project.Work Location: Primarily on-site, with occasional office-based tasks. Locations vary by project and may include the NYC Metro area and Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk Counties).
ABOUT THE JOB
Key Responsibilities• Conduct regular field inspections to ensure work aligns with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.• Inspect construction materials and oversee materials testing to confirm compliance with project requirements.• Identify discrepancies or deficiencies during inspections and coordinate with contractors and engineers for timely resolution.• Prepare and submit comprehensive daily inspection reports, documenting site observations and compliance status.• Adhere to project-specific Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and safety requirements and report any observed hazards or unsafe conditions in the field.• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to support smooth project execution.• Review construction documents to proactively identify potential issues and ensure adherence to project plans.• Provide regular updates during project meetings and communicate inspection findings as needed.• Utilize computer-based applications and standard office software to complete inspection reports and manage project documentation.• Support construction management team for various site inspection tasks including water resources (water, sewer and stormwater) and site planning projects.
