ABOUT THE JOB

The Regional Clinical Safety Specialist reports to the Regional Manager of Clinical Safety and works closely with them to oversee clinical safety and risk‑management initiatives within the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Collaborative Just Culture framework. This role focuses on creating and refining processes that support safe patient care while promoting a culture of learning, improvement, teamwork, and accountability. Utilizing industry best practices and regulatory standards, the specialist proactively identifies emerging risks and operational hazards, collaborates with teams across the organization to assess risks and develop tailored mitigation strategies, and fosters continuous improvement through effective incident‑reporting processes. By engaging employees at all levels, the specialist ensures clinical safety procedures are understood and integrated into everyday operations to help prevent harm to both patients and clinicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES✨

• Oversee clinical safety and risk-management initiatives within the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Collaborative Just Culture framework.
• Create and refine processes that support safe patient care while promoting a culture of learning, improvement, teamwork, and accountability.
• Proactively identify emerging risks and operational hazards, collaborate with teams to assess risks and develop tailored mitigation strategies.
• Foster continuous improvement through effective incident-reporting processes.
• Ensure clinical safety procedures are understood and integrated into everyday operations to help prevent harm to both patients and clinicians.

QUALIFICATIONS✨

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of full-time EMS operations experience (>30 hours/week)
• Current EMS credential/license or Nursing license
• Demonstrated experience in field leadership roles (e.g., FTO, preceptor, shift lead, or equivalent)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to interpret operational policy and regulatory guidance
• Complete Collaborative High Reliability Level 3 training within one year of hire
