12-week fast-track program designed to equip transitioning Soldiers with knowledge and measurable skills needed to be a Ryder qualified Level II Service Technician. Upon successful completion, Soldiers will be able to 1) able to identify and explain the different systems of a medium/heavy-duty truck; 2) knowledgeable of the methods of maintaining, diagnosing and repairing equipment; 3) able to demonstrate the appropriate use of tools and diagnostic equipment; 4) able to identify technical resources available from original equipment manufacturers and Ryder; and 5) able to complete inspection, triage, diagnostics and basic repairs to medium/heavy-duty truck. There is no cost to this program. Graduates are placed at one of over 800 locations across North America.
Installation, Maintenance and Repair
This program is open to any interested transitioning Soldier who is within 180 days of transitioning from active service, anticipates a fully honorable or general under honorable conditions characterization of service, and has his/her Battalion Commander's support for participation. Applicants will also undergo additional Ryder screening such as a background check and drug screenings. Ryder will conduct interviews with all eligible applicants prior to selection.
