The Mission Operations Controller II provides command and control, coordination, and direction to system operators in the field involved in direct mission support and mission activities. The individual’s e performance primarily correlates to meeting program objectives, assessing program effectiveness, and analyzing both unusual and conventional test/training problems. The individual performs a multitude of test and training events under stressful conditions, in a dynamic and evolving environment.
• Setup, configure, operate, monitor, and maintain communication equipment, computer terminals and video displays for processed data integrity.• Confirm cryptographic material is current, correct, loaded and ready for mission support.• Ability to rapidly isolate system malfunctions and restore the systems to operational status.• Adapt to nonstandard problem that may require extensive operator intervention and coordination with external agencies.• Implement and execute established policies and procedures, and apply subject matter knowledge to complete moderately complex assignments that vary in nature and sequence. • Understand and implement local procedures established through Letters of Agreement, Memorandums of Understanding, Flight Information Publications and/or other official publications.• Ability to apply local procedures established through Letters of Agreement, Memorandums of Understanding, Flight Information Publications and/or other official publications to enforce both restrictions and customer compliance.• Train new users on unique mission support equipment.• Performs related duties as assigned• Each employee must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, and quality requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to their assigned job. Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency. • Minimum 1-4 years of experience in as a Threat Command and Control Operator or a Weapons Director/Air Battle Manager.• One years’ experience with Command and Control of an Integrated Air Defense SystemDesired Qualifications:• Preferred experience with the following systems: o Multi/single-channel radioso Intercomso Have Quick II/ Secure Voice radioso Digital Integrated Air Defense Simulator (DIADS)o Battlespace Command and Control Center – Theater (BC3-T/AF)o Link 16 Tactical Datalink Framework (TDF)o Multi Source Correlation Tracker (MSCT)o Range Airspace Display System (RADS)o Passive Detection (PD) systemso Communications software suites (mIRC, Swift and/or something similar)• Ability to learn USAF operational brevity code words• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearanceCore Competencies:• Ability to establish/maintain effective work relationships with internal and external customers• Ability to work within a team environment and with other team members and those contacted while performing required duties. Ability to provide solutions/options for problems in a timely manner. Also perform basic troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
