Research
The Research Analyst will support the editorial team at a leading deep tech venture capital firm by conducting in-depth research and analysis across emerging technologies, scientific fields, and market trends. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and writing skills, an ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling narratives, and a keen interest in frontier innovation. Responsibilities include supporting the development of thought leadership content, briefing materials, and internal strategy documents; collaborating with investment and communications teams; and maintaining databases and research systems. The role requires attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a background in science, engineering, or a related technical field, as well as experience with editorial workflows or content development. This is a full-time position offering exposure to venture investing, early-stage startups, and strategic communications at the intersection of science, technology, and capital. This role is based at our New York City office.
ABOUT THE JOB
- Conduct primary and secondary research on emerging technologies, scientific breakthroughs, startups, and market dynamics to inform editorial content and strategic positioning.- Support the creation of thought leadership materials, including essays, reports, newsletters, and briefing documents, by providing background analysis, sourcing data, and drafting content.- Monitor academic, industry, and policy developments relevant to the firm’s investment focus areas, and synthesize findings into internal updates and opportunity assessments.- Collaborate with investors, founders, and external experts to gather insights and perspectives that enhance the depth and credibility of published materials.- Manage and maintain research databases, editorial calendars, and workflow systems to ensure timely, organized, and high-quality content production.
