The Medical Coding SkillBridge program prepares transitioning service members for civilian careers in healthcare administration and revenue cycle management. Participants receive structured training in medical terminology, coding systems, healthcare documentation, and compliance standards, equipping them with the skills required to accurately translate clinical services into standardized medical codes used for billing, reimbursement, and data analysis.
Participants train for entry-level medical coding roles within healthcare systems, clinics, hospitals, and insurance organizations. Training emphasizes ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding, medical record review, compliance and ethics, reimbursement processes, and use of electronic health record systems. Graduates are prepared to pursue industry-recognized certification and employment in non-clinical healthcare roles. CTC has an established network of employers available for job placement.
Participants must meet academic readiness requirements and demonstrate basic computer proficiency. Successful completion may require passing certification exams depending on the credential pursued. Background checks may be required for certain employment settings.
