The SkillBridge Fellow will serve as a ViT Academy Program Coordinator, supporting the end-to-end administration of Academy training programs. The Fellow will complete day-to-day program operations for assigned cohorts and lead a process-improvement efforts to streamline the student admissions pipeline — from application intake and eligibility verification through enrollment, onboarding, and waitlist management. This role is ideal for a transitioning service member with experience in training management, operations, personnel administration, or program coordination who wants to build a civilian career in program management, education operations, or workforce development.
Program AdministrationCoordinate cohort logistics across the program lifecycle: scheduling, instructor and vendor coordination, LMS course setup, and student communications.Administer the Canvas LMS environment for assigned cohorts — enrollments, course shells, announcements, gradebook hygiene, and access for partner platforms (e.g., vendor labs and content libraries).Track attendance, progression, and completion; flag at-risk students for early intervention and coordinate support touchpoints.Admissions Pipeline ManagementManage application intake: review applications, verify veteran/military spouse eligibility, and screen candidates against program prerequisites and aptitude criteria.Map the current admissions workflow end-to-end, identify bottlenecks, and recommend and implement process improvements (automation of intake forms, status tracking, standardized communications, and waitlist management).Maintain accurate applicant and student records in program tracking systems; build simple dashboards or reports on funnel metrics (applications, acceptances, enrollments, completions).Reporting & Stakeholder SupportPrepare cohort status reports and outcome metrics (graduation rates, certification attempts/passes, employment outcomes) for leadership, funders, and employer partners.Support coordination with training vendors, instructors, employer partners, and sponsors as directed.Document standard operating procedures so improved processes are repeatable beyond the fellowship period.
This opportunity is offered under the DoD SkillBridge program (DoDI 1322.29).
