McClinton and Roy is seeking transitioning Service Members to participate in a 180-day DoD SkillBridge internship focused on government consulting, capture management, and business development. This program provides structured, hands-on training designed to prepare participants for entry-level to junior-level roles supporting federal acquisition, consulting delivery, and proposal development.Participants train under direct mentor supervision while contributing to real-world consulting and capture activities aligned with McClinton and Roy’s federal mission support services
Training Focus AreasParticipants will receive training and practical experience in the following areas:Federal acquisition and procurement processesGovernment consulting support and analysisFederal market research and opportunity identificationCapture planning and go/no-go analysisTeaming and partner researchCompliance and requirements analysisProposal development supportProfessional communication and reportingKey Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder mentor supervision, participants will:Research federal agencies, missions, and acquisition trendsIdentify and track federal contracting opportunitiesAnalyze RFIs, Sources Sought, and pre-solicitation noticesAssist with capture planning and strategy developmentDraft capability statements, opportunity summaries, and SWOT analysesBuild compliance and requirements matricesSupport proposal writing and review activitiesAssist with consulting or acquisition support deliverablesPrepare briefings, reports, and a final capstone presentationTraining StructureThe internship follows a phased, progressive training model:Orientation and Foundations – Federal acquisition and consulting fundamentalsMarket Research and Opportunity IdentificationCapture Planning and Pre-Proposal SupportProposal Development and Consulting SupportAdvanced Application and Client SupportCapstone Project and Transition ReadinessTraining includes instructor-led virtual sessions, hands-on assignments, and weekly mentor check-ins.Deliverables and EvaluationParticipants are evaluated throughout the program based on:Quality and accuracy of research and analysisUnderstanding of acquisition and capture processesProfessional written and verbal communicationResponsiveness to feedbackCompletion and quality of assigned deliverablesFinal capstone project and presentationTraining OutcomesUpon successful completion, participants will have:Practical experience supporting federal consulting and capture activitiesHands-on exposure to acquisition and proposal development processesA professional portfolio including:Opportunity analysesCapture plansCompliance matricesProposal or consulting artifactsThis program prepares participants for potential civilian roles such as:Junior Government ConsultantBusiness Development AnalystCapture AnalystProposal Support Specialist

Member will not incur any costs for participation in this internship. There is no salary for this position, the prospective salary could be $80K annually.
