This program delivers hands-on experience, Caterpillar-specific training, and real mentorship in a high-demand industry. Participants will work in a shop environment, gain experience on Caterpillar equipment, and receive career development support to prepare for life after service.
As a Cat Heavy Equipment Mechanic, your primary responsibility is to determine the status of services needed for various heavy and light construction equipment and perform the necessary repairs and maintenance to restore the equipment to proper operation. This includes set-up, repair, service, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and installation of replacement parts on Caterpillar diesel-powered heavy equipment.
