Technician Training Program Fulltime Mechanical Internship
Mustang CAT has supported Houston’s growth for more than 70 years and is now proud to support transitioning service members through this heavy equipment technician SkillBridge internship. This program delivers hands-on experience, Caterpillar-specific training, and real mentorship in a high-demand industry. Participants will work in a shop environment, gain experience on Caterpillar equipment, and receive career development support to prepare for life after service.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cat Heavy Equipment Mechanic, your primary responsibility is to determine the status of services needed for various heavy and light construction equipment and perform the necessary repairs and maintenance to restore the equipment to proper operation. This includes set-up, repair, service, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and installation of replacement parts on Caterpillar diesel-powered heavy equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine the status of services needed for various heavy and light construction equipment
- Perform repairs and maintenance to restore the equipment to proper operation
- Set-up, repair, service, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and installation of replacement parts on Caterpillar diesel-powered heavy equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be within 180 days of transition from military service
- Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Open to all qualified transitioning active-duty U.S. service members, both officer and enlisted, of any rank and branch
