Our team is dedicated to safety, compliance, and delivering high-quality results while protecting people and the environment.Through the DoD SkillBridge program, AAC offers transitioning service members the chance to gain hands-on civilian experience in construction field supervision, safety management, and environmental services.Program OverviewAs a Field Supervisor Intern, you will train alongside experienced AAC leaders, gaining practical experience in:• Supervising crews and field operations• Ensuring compliance with federal and state safety regulations• Delivering projects that meet client expectationsThis internship provides hands-on leadership experience, exposure to construction and environmental safety practices, and the opportunity to develop project management skills that transfer directly to civilian careers.Successful interns may be considered for full-time employment as a Field Supervisor with AAC Contracting.
Key Training AreasParticipants will receive structured training and mentorship in:• Field Labor: Hands-on experience working directly in the field• Field Leadership & Supervision: Leading small teams, assigning tasks, and maintaining quality performance• Safety & Compliance: OSHA requirements, NYS asbestos safety regulations, and hazard identification• Project Planning & Coordination: Creating site safety plans, scheduling work, and managing crew resources• Equipment & Materials Management: Inventory control, safe operation of tools/machinery, and supply forecasting• Incident Reporting & Risk Mitigation: Documenting accidents, investigating incidents, and promoting behavioral safety• Client & Crew Communication: Providing clear direction, reviewing project scope, and resolving on-site issuesTraining EnvironmentSkillBridge participants will work in real-world field supervision, collaborating with experienced supervisors and safety professionals. This immersive experience includes hands-on fieldwork, safety management, and project coordination—providing a strong foundation for careers in construction, environmental remediation, and occupational safety.Ideal CandidateThis program is suited for transitioning service members with leadership experience in construction, engineering, safety, logistics, or field operations.Preferred Skills & Attributes:• Leadership experience with small teams or military projects• Strong safety mindset and risk awareness• Problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments• Clear and effective communication skills for training and guiding teams• Comfortable working outdoors or in confined spaces• Ability to read blueprints• Strong organizational skillsEducation & Certifications (preferred or obtainable during program):• High school diploma or GED required• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training (provided if needed)• NYS Asbestos Certification (training available for eligible candidates)• Valid driver’s licenseCareer PathwaysCompletion of this SkillBridge program may lead to full-time employment as a Field Operations Supervisor or similar roles.• Salary Range (upon conversion): $25–$40/hr, based on experience and performance• Benefits: Health care, 401(k), paid time off, vehicle allowance, educational reimbursement, and more
