The overall program will consist of 27 credit hours of college credit from Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and classes will be conducted Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm in person at the VECTR Center. The overall length of the training is 15 weeks and there will be 3 programs conducted per year. The approximate start dates will be February-June, June-September and October-February. • ASTT 1011 – Basic Blueprint Reading – 3 credit hours• ASTT 1030 - Structural Fundamentals – 6 credit hours• ASTT 1020 – Aircraft Blueprint Reading – 3 credit hours• ASTT 1041 – Structural Layout and Fabrication – 7 credit hours• ASTT 1070 – Aerodynamics – 2 credit hours• ASTT 1091 – Composites and Bonded Structures – 6 credit hours

ABOUT THE JOB

Aircraft Assembly and Repair Technicians may work in aerospace manufacturing or in the maintenance and repair of aircraft structures. Duties involve blueprint reading and interpretation to carry out the fabrication, assembly, and repair of aircraft metallic and composite structures.

Lodging provided by Robins AFB in a contingency dorm at no cost. Single room, shared bath with same gender; therefore, military members cannot be accompanied.Cost of program is paid for using Federal and State Grants such as Georgia Hope Grant, Georgia Career Grant, Pell Grant, and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Grant. Georgia VECTR Center’s programs are designed for service members without transferable skills in the civilian sector. Students with a bachelor’s degree or higher may not qualify for certain financial aid.
