Oversee full life-cycle commissioning of electrical substations – from design review to functional testing and system validation. You’ll work with transformers, switchgear, relays, and more.Key Responsibilities: 🔌 On-site inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of substation equipment (transformers, protection relays, switchgear, etc.) Review substation design documents and specs. ABOUT THE JOB

Perform On-site Substation Commissioning Activities and Assist in Project Management (50%) - On-site inspection, validation, functional testing, verification and troubleshooting of electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and control systems. - Participate in factory witness testing and observe startup activities- Use technical equipment to perform testing- Direct vendors / contractors in the execution of the testing- Timely and effective management and delivery of projects- Identify potential project risks and aid in development of strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines- Onboarding of project team for mobilization and provides ongoing updatesDevelop Testing Plans and Procedures for Substation Projects (20%)- Development of commissioning plans- Prepare pre-functional checklists- Prepare functional performance test scriptsReview Substation Design Documents, Drawings and Specifications (15%)Review shop drawings and submittalsReview sequence of operationsAssist in commissioning focused design reviewsReporting (15%)- Assist with all project communication and reporting- Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders- Assist in preparation and contribute to final commissioning report for submission to client

RESPONSIBILITIES✨

• Perform on-site substation commissioning activities including inspection, validation, functional testing, verification, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and control systems.
• Participate in factory witness testing and observe startup activities.
• Develop and execute testing plans and procedures for substation projects, including the preparation of pre-functional checklists and functional performance test scripts.
• Review substation design documents, drawings, and specifications including shop drawings, submittals, and sequence of operations.
• Assist with all project communication and reporting, prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to the final commissioning report for submission to the client.

QUALIFICATIONS✨

• Ability to oversee full life-cycle commissioning of electrical substations from design review to functional testing and system validation.
• Capability to work with transformers, switchgear, relays, and more.
• Skills in on-site inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and directing vendors/contractors in the execution of testing.
• Experience in developing testing plans, executing them, and reporting on project progress and final commissioning results.
