Training will include vehicle inspections, safe driving practices, trip planning, hours-of-service awareness, DOT compliance, dispatch communication, customer delivery procedures, flatbed equipment use, load securement, tarping, and professional driver expectations.This SkillBridge role is designed to help service members transition into a civilian driving career by building practical knowledge of regional trucking operations and Knight Transport’s safety and service standards. Participants will be evaluated throughout the program on safety awareness, reliability, work ethic, learning and coachability, operational ability, and professionalism.Primary Training AreasSafe operation of Class A commercial motor vehicles in regional operations.Pre-trip and post-trip inspections.Flatbed and heavy-haul load securement practices.Tarping, chains, binders, straps, edge protection, and related equipment use.Trip planning, route awareness, and delivery scheduling.Hours-of-service, logbook, and DOT compliance basics.Communication with dispatch, safety, maintenance, customers, and trainers.Customer pickup and delivery procedures.Company safety standards and professional conduct.Desired Candidate QualificationsClass A CDL or ability to obtain/hold required licensing for training participation.Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow company procedures.Dependable, professional, and coachable.Comfortable working around commercial vehicles, trailers, freight, and outdoor conditions.Interest in long-term employment as a regional Class A CDL driver after successful program completion.
