ABOUT THE JOB

GS-1102 is the General Schedule (GS) occupational series for Contract Specialists, who are responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of federal contracts, from solicitation and negotiation to administration and termination. These professionals work to procure supplies, services, and construction for the government, ensuring compliance with regulations like the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and meeting socioeconomic goals, such as those for small businesses. MARMC Procures and administers private contracted ship repair in Hampton Roads.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing the entire lifecycle of federal contracts, from solicitation and negotiation to administration and termination.
• Procuring supplies, services, and construction for the government.
• Ensuring compliance with regulations like the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
• Meeting socioeconomic goals, such as those for small businesses.
• Administering private contracted ship repair in Hampton Roads.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Navy Marine Corps Acquisition Regulation Supplement (NMCARS), and the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Contract Handbook (NCH).
