Summary: Salas O'Brien is looking for a Commissioning Technician to join our growing team. This office focuses primarily on building related projects, including hotels, apartment buildings, retail/commercial buildings, and healthcare facilities. Our Commissioning Engineers are primarily in the field inspecting and testing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in commercial facilities prior to them being occupied. Your Background To succeed in this role, you need to meet the following basic requirements: 2-3+ years of commissioning experience in commercial facilities Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and the various codes associated Ability to travel extensively Attributes of Top Performers If you have some of the following characteristics and experience, you’d be an especially good fit: Excellent organizational skills and an extremely high attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Leadership ability and entrepreneurial spirit Self starter that requires little direction to get moving on a project Desire to grow in an office and company Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field or 5+ years of equivalent MEP construction, commissioning and project management experience New college graduates Project Management Certification is preferred but not required Professional Engineering License is not required but preferred Certification in Building Commissioning is not required but preferred OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety is not required but preferred NFPE-70E is not required but preferred Other Requirements: Physical Ability to bend and lift 30 lbs Ability to climb stairs/ladders Location: Phoenix, AZ, Denver, CO, San Jose, CA, Des Moines, IA, Irvine, CA, Atlanta, GA, Washington, DC, San Diego, CA
