Provides training in the skills and use of equipment necessary to fulfill the duties of the Warehouse Clerk position. The Knowledge and Skills requirements for this position are as follows: KNOWLEDGE: Require a working knowledge of, or the basic knowledge to learn to apply the principles related to, the duties of the position, including receiving and issuing materials and supplies, determining the materials required to make up construction units, keeping inventory records, compiling reports, and maintaining neat and orderly storage of materials and supplies. Require the willingness to pursue a continuous program of self-development both inside and outside of work hours in furthering his/her knowledge to develop in the job and accept increasing responsibilities.SKILLS: Require effective leadership skills, excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work in a team environment. Require the ability to perform neat and accurate clerical work required by the duties of the position and according to schedules. Require the ability to meet and effectively communicate with member-consumers, sales representatives, the general public, and employees so as to stimulate goodwill and effective relations. Require the ability to organize work and make recommendations for the establishment of an effective warehousing system, including storage and control procedures. Require the ability to follow work procedures and schedules, interpret verbal and written instructions, maintain harmony among workers, and reason and make sound judgments.

ABOUT THE JOB

The ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the Warehouse Clerk position are listed below: 1. Assembles materials required for construction work order sheets, prepares for issue to line crews, and receives and checks all material in excess of requirements for return to stock according to established procedure.2. Receives/checks in all materials and prepares receiving report as required.3. Prepares information on inventory to maintain adequate stock levels of tools, specialized equipment, and spare parts.4. Unloads/transports materials as required or directed.5. Packs/ships material returned to suppliers due to damage or order error.6. Provides storage for specialized tools and equipment within warehouse spaces, receives broken tools that are turned in for repair or replacement, and takes appropriate action to have damaged tools repaired or replaced.7. Transmits and receives calls on Cooperative radio and communicates essential information to line crew and service personnel in field as required.8. Checks in all salvageable materials and disposes of unusable material and adjusts records according to established procedures.9. Maintains storeroom and warehouse spaces in clean, neat, orderly manner.10. Stays informed of all Cooperative policies and procedures and attends and participates in special meetings and training sessions as required.11. Assists in inventory spot checks and full inventory counts according to departmental procedures.12. Develops working knowledge of REA line construction and specifications.13. Operate various machinery including sweeper, backhoe, skid steer, etc.14. Is familiar with and follows the best safety practices set forth in the Cooperative's Safety Manual.15. Attends and participates in annual meeting as required or directed.16. Performs such other duties as may be required or directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
