Serve as an Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Communications Systems Technician within the UHF SATCOM Systems at NIWC Pacific. This position offers a unique hands-on training opportunity in a lab-based and Pre-Installation Test Check Out (PITCO) environment supporting onboard U.S Navy Ships and shoresides. Supporting U.S. Navy communications systems for UHF SATCOM antennas (OE-570/OE-82) and Radios (WSC-3, Fleet Broadcast, ARC-210, RT-1829, SRC-64B, MD-1324 Modems). Working closely with technicians to test, validate, and support shipboard tactical communications systems, gaining exposure to Pre-Installation Test Check Out (PITCO), Pre-Installation Check Out (PICO), and System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT) procedures. Interns will also assist in troubleshooting communication systems, building and testing cables, programming radios, and supporting system configurations in the lab environment. Potential travel is part of internship.
