City of Havelock Fire Rescue
Havelock Fire Rescue has an open internship opportunity for personnel interested in Fire and EMS. Ideal candidate will have DOD credentials or working towards civilian credentials for Fire and/or EMS. This will be on the job training for better understanding of the daily operational procedures of Fire and EMS departments.
ABOUT THE JOB
Intern performs as a trainee Firefighter/EMT. Emphasis of the work is on responding to emergency service calls and applying firefighting technology to extinguish fires, or provide emergency medical treatment, or a combination of both depending on circumstances of each response. Employees are dually trained as both Firefighters and EMTs. Work is supervised by a Fire Captain/Paramedic or other superior and is evaluated on the employee's knowledge of firefighting and EMT services, initiative, and on-scene performance with directives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responding to emergency service calls
- Applying firefighting technology to extinguish fires
- Providing emergency medical treatment
- Participating in on the job training to understand daily operational procedures of Fire and EMS departments
QUALIFICATIONS
- DOD credentials or working towards civilian credentials for Fire and/or EMS
- Ability to perform as a trainee Firefighter/EMT
- Knowledge of firefighting and EMT services
