Members of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s Office of the Chief External Affairs Officer (EA) work to communicate the agency’s role in ensuring the security, resiliency, and reliability of the nation’s cyber and physical infrastructure. Members will support internal and external communications efforts, including managing senior leader speaking engagements, drafting talking points and writing speeches, responding to media, drafting and writing social media, developing strategic communications plans, writing leadership messages, tech editing, providing on-site media support, and other media, community relations, and communications efforts.
Supports the internal and external communications efforts, including managing senior leader speaking engagements, drafting and writing talking points and writing speeches, responding to media, developing and writing social media content, developing strategic communications plans, writing leadership messages, technical editing, providing on-site media support and engaging in community relations, and other communications efforts. • Responsible for media operations and engagement, including responding to media queries, coordinating and staffing leadership interviews with news media, coordinating with DHS Office of Public Affairs (DHS OPA) and interagency media offices, writing press statements and releases, writing and reviewing talking points, and providing guidance and advice to CISA leadership on media matters. • Collaborate with divisions to coordinate the development and release of communications products, including accompanying social media posts for press releases and rollouts. Responsible for social media of individual named accounts. • Helps strategize, plan, document, and implement activities to support nationwide CISA campaigns, product rollouts, and messaging. • Engage regional media and congressional staff on efforts related to CISA campaigns and regional initiatives. • Collaborate to ensure CISA’s efforts around the nation are highlighted on CISA’s official social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, and Truth Social), working with regional staff to identify and secure content and imagery. • Support regional and national leadership on official public engagements in the field including delivering regional insight to support public communications that speak to regional and stakeholder needs.• Draft content for social media, talking points and messaging for campaigns, regionalized communications, web c`ontent related to campaigns run by EA. Tailor campaign messaging for small and medium business, state, local, tribal, and territorial audiences. • Review and edit content produced by the External Affairs staff. • Draft, review, and edit content for CISA’s internal communications materials and regional talking points. • Drafts speeches and talking points for CISA leadership.• Manages and coordinates logistics for CISA executive leadership (including Front Office, Division and Mission Enabling Offices leadership) participation in speaking engagements and conferences; reporting and briefing materials, talking points, speeches and other support to leaders for official public facing engagements on behalf of the Agency.
Must have Secret Clearance. DINFOS graduates and at least 5 years of public affairs experience required.
