Residential Home Inspector Training Program (Assistant to Lead)

A 14-week SkillBridge program that trains transitioning service members from Home Inspector Assistant to Lead Home Inspector through hands-on field inspections and InterNACHI-accredited coursework, with a full-time Lead Home Inspector role available on successful completion. No prior inspection experience required.

ABOUT THE JOB

Launch a civilian career as a professional home inspector with Safe House Property Inspections. This 14-week, hands-on SkillBridge program takes you from Home Inspector Assistant to Lead Home Inspector through real inspections alongside InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspectors, paired with InterNACHI-accredited coursework.Phase 1 (Weeks 1 to 9) builds your foundation: jobsite safety and setup, the InterNACHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, and the interior, kitchen, bathroom, roof, garage/deck, thermal, water heater, and fireplace routines, with all findings documented in professional inspection software.Phase 2 (Weeks 10 to 14) develops you into a lead inspector able to independently perform and report a complete residential inspection, including electrical, structure/crawlspace, exterior, and HVAC systems, and prepares you for the Virginia home inspector license and InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector (CPI) certification.You will finish with industry certificates, documented supervised field-inspection hours, and a clear path to a full-time Lead Home Inspector role with our team. No prior inspection experience required.

RESPONSIBILITIES✨

• Assist in hands-on field inspections alongside InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspectors.
• Complete InterNACHI-accredited coursework.
• Document all findings in professional inspection software.
• Independently perform and report a complete residential inspection including electrical, structure/crawlspace, exterior, and HVAC systems.

QUALIFICATIONS✨

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to climb ladders, access attics and crawlspaces, and lift up to approximately 40 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a physically active, on-site role.
• Professional communication skills.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

Open to transitioning service members from all branches with command approval and an ETS date that fits the 14-week program window. No security clearance required. Requirements: valid driver's license; ability to climb ladders, access attics and crawlspaces, and lift up to approximately 40 pounds; comfortable working in a physically active, on-site role; professional communication skills.
