This training plan supports participation in the Department of War SkillBridge Program and is designed to provide transitioning Service members with hands-on experience in recruiting and talent acquisition within a professional civilian work environment. The program allows participants to apply their existing skills while developing new competencies relevant to human resources and recruiting functions.Under this training plan, the participant will support the recruiting team throughout the full recruitment lifecycle. Training activities include managing job postings, reviewing resumes, conducting initial candidate screenings and phone interviews, tracking candidate progress, and communicating updates to internal stakeholders. The participant will also gain experience working with multiple open requisitions, applying appropriate technical terminology, and maintaining professional communication with candidates across various platforms.This role emphasizes organization, communication, customer service, and time management while exposing the participant to real-world recruiting operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The training experience is intended to prepare the participant for an entry-level recruiting or human resources role following their transition from active duty.
The Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Program offers transitioning Service members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience through industry-specific training, apprenticeships, or internships during their final 180 days of active duty. In accordance with DoW Instruction 1322.29, the SkillBridge Program connects Service members with industry partners to participate in real-world job experiences. Eligible participants may be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to train full-time with approved SkillBridge partners.TQI Solutions is proud to support the DoW SkillBridge Program and currently has an opening for a Junior Recruiter at our headquarters in Chesapeake, VA.Responsibilities:• Provide comprehensive support to the recruiting team throughout the full recruitment lifecycle• Manage and update job postings within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)• Conduct initial resume reviews and candidate screenings• Deliver timely updates on candidate progress to the recruiting team• Coordinate and conduct preliminary phone interviews with applicants• Maintain a high standard of customer service and time management• Effectively manage multiple job requisitions simultaneously• Learn and apply relevant technical terminology as needed• Post job openings across various job boards and platformsQualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Information Technology, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred)• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Teams• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Strong interpersonal abilities and a team-oriented mindset• Comfortable and confident communicating via phone and live chat• Demonstrated empathy and professionalism in interactions with candidates• Exceptional organizational and time management skills• Ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced team environment
