The SAPR VA provides sexual assault victim advocacy and a non-clinical response that is trauma-informed, environmentally competent, and recovery-oriented. This includes accepting Restricted and Unrestricted Reports of sexual assault, providing referrals, and informing victims of their options. Advocacy support includes risk screening, ongoing safety assessment and planning, and needs assessments for adult victims of sexual assault. The SAPR VA reports to and is supervised and evaluated by the Supervisor Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC).
The participant shall perform victim advocacy duties and provide a non-clinical response that is trauma informed and recovery oriented to include accepting and responding to official reports of sexual assault and as needed, providing referrals, informing victims of their options, and performing risk assessment and safety planning. Additionally, participant will assist the SARC with developing and collaborating with relevant stakeholders, aboard the Installation and in the community, on SAPR awareness campaigns and outreach efforts. Participant will assist with planning, scheduling and delivery of SAPR training for stakeholders and Service Members, to include USMC SAPR Training. Participant will work closely alongside fellow victim advocates and directly under the supervision of a SARC- both in the office and training environment.
