13 Weeks (65 training days / approximately 520 total hours). All training will be completed within the prescribed and authorized period for the organization's SkillBridge program.
The Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Locator is responsible for tracking and guiding underground boring equipment during trenchless utility installations (such as fiber optics, power cables, gas, water, and sewer lines). Responsibilities include operating walkover electronic tracking systems and remote display units to monitor drill head depth, pitch, and clock position relative to surface topography and utility alignments; communicating steering directions in real time to the drill operator; reading utility blueprints and bore plans; performing surface utility locates and potholing verification; and maintaining job-site safety, environmental compliance, and accurate bore logs. The locator ensures precise navigation around existing underground infrastructure and mitigates subterranean utility strikes.
As a part of accepting the training provided by M&J Enterprises you will also be required to agree and sign a non-compete agreement for a year from the start of your full-time employment.
