This opportunity is an internship that will provide training on equipment, software, and finishing services specific to the fine art digital printing industry. Participants who complete the training may be offered a position at Old Town Editions if one is available at that time. Participants will acquire the skills to gain employment as a digital print technician. They will also gain the skills and knowledge to produce and sell prints of their own artwork or photography.
Participants will be introduced to all aspects of fine art digital printing. They will be trained on Epson and Canon large format printers, BetterLight digital capturing system, SilverFast scanning software, Caldra RIP software, and Adobe Photoshop. They will gain experience in color correction, color proofing, and image retouching. They will also be trained to perform finishing services such as cutting, inspecting and packaging prints, canvas varnishing, and canvas stretching. Participants will also be asked to help perform general shop duties such as administrative tasks, equipment upkeep, and client interactions.
Open to all with an interest in art, printing, and photography.
