Our Skill Bridge Program is modeled to prepare applicants for employment in the 1102 Contracting Specialist position. Our training is focused on core competencies based around the Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR). The program is inclusive for new to individuals to contracting or experienced contracting individuals. When complete, the applicant will be able to perform general contract specialist duties or more specialized Contracting Officer functions based on prior knowledge or skills.
The primary duties of a contracting specialist or officer include: to provide business advice and to perform all pre-award and post-award functions for a wide variety of complex and/or specialized acquisitions, using a wide range of contracting methods and types. To perform developmental assignments which are designed to provide the employee with experience in the award process using a wide range of common contracting methods and contract types, to assist in the procurement of standard or specialized services, commodities, and/or construction within an organizational component or geographical area. This includes trainees, journeymen and contracting officers. Specifics of each job is based on experience levels.
