The investor plays a mission-critical role across the entire investment lifecycle, from top-of-funnel deal sourcing and rigorous due diligence to post-investment portfolio support.Core Focus Areas:Deal Execution & Intelligence: Lead comprehensive market research, threat/opportunity assessments, and ground-level due diligence on prospective startups to identify high-conviction investments.Financial & Analytical Rigor: Execute complex financial modeling, cap table mathematics, and valuation assessments, synthesizing data into high-stakes Investment Committee (IC) briefings.Operational Command: Take ownership of the firm's CRM and pipeline logistics, ensuring flawless data hygiene and streamlined standard operating procedures (SOPs).Leadership & Ambassadorship: Act as a frontline representative of the Ensemble brand, building strategic alliances with co-investors and providing tactical, leadership-driven support to portfolio CEOs.
We are seeking a full-time Private Capital Investor to join our investment team. We highly value the unique perspectives of military veterans and have designed this role to leverage your operational discipline, leadership, and strategic execution.Reporting directly to the Managing Partners, you will be heavily involved in all tactical and strategic phases of the investment lifecycle. You will bridge the gap between elite military execution and venture capital, playing a mission-critical role in our intelligence gathering, research, and due diligence processes. To ensure your success, this role includes a structured 24-week onboarding and training program led by our Partners and Data Science team.Key ResponsibilitiesTarget Due Diligence & Risk Assessment: Conduct rigorous, ground-up due diligence on prospective investments, evaluating operational viability, leadership teams, product-market fit, and downside risks.Investment Committee Briefings: Draft comprehensive presentation materials for the investment committee, clearly articulating strategic investment theses and highlighting key transaction considerations.Financial & Valuation Analysis: Perform detailed financial modeling, risk assessments, unit economics evaluations, and cap table analysis.Market Intelligence: Execute competitive landscape analysis, threat assessments, and market research to identify strategic whitespace in technology, defense tech, and broader macroeconomic sectors.Operational Command: Take ownership of the investment pipeline and CRM, ensuring operational excellence, data hygiene, and adherence to firm SOPs.Portfolio Leadership Support: Build strong alliances with portfolio CEOs and management teams, drawing on your leadership experience to support their growth, discipline, and operational execution.Brand Ambassadorship: Serve as a frontline representative for the Ensemble brand, maintaining the highest standards of integrity in front of founders, co-investors, and the broader venture ecosystem.Qualifications & Ideal ProfileMilitary Background: Proven track record of leadership and operational execution in the armed forces (e.g., Commissioned Officer or NCO with significant strategic/analytical responsibilities).Analytical Rigor: A strong quantitative baseline with a high aptitude and eagerness to rapidly master financial modeling, SaaS metrics, and venture mechanics.Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise, and persuasive executive briefings, both written and verbal.Decisive Execution: Comfort operating in high-pressure, ambiguous environments where you must make and defend decisions with incomplete information.Team-First Mentality: A low-ego, mission-driven professional who thrives in a collaborative, "ensemble" environment.What We OfferStructured Transition: A comprehensive, 24-week customized training program to bridge your military experience with the technical mechanics of private capital.Mentorship: Direct access and training from Managing Partners and our Head of Data Science.Impact: The opportunity to deploy capital into transformative technologies and support the next generation of visionary founders.
