This SkillBridge Program is a 92-day (13-week) internship designed to develop foundational competencies in industrial base analysis, trade and economic research, national security policy, and data analytics. The intern’s progress will be evaluated weekly based on the specific tasks assigned and ability to perform under guidance. Section 1: Position Overview• Job Title: Trade and Industry Analyst• Job Description: The incumbent will conduct industrial base assessments and analyze the health, competitiveness, and capabilities of the U.S. industrial base to support the national defense. The incumbent will conduct primary research on critical technologies and defense-related industrial sectors; draft various written products including briefing slides decks, memorandum, and reports; and investigate the effects of imports on national security. The incumbent will conduct analysis of trade and business data, geopolitical issues and trends, and foreign threats to U.S. economic and national security. oParticipates as a member of a study or project teams analyzing private sector business/industry operationso Studies and analyzes trade and economic data and information from a variety of sources oAttends meetings, conferences, or other events related to the U.S. industrial base, national security, and/or critical technologies for training and developmental purposes oAssists senior analysts in execution of agency programs and operations oAssists in the production of written products based on trade and economic datao Locates and assembles information and performs basic analysis to explain and justify conclusions, findings, and recommendations in written products oCommunicate routine information, reports, and data to stakeholders• Duration: 92 days • Total Program Length: 13 weeks
