This 25-week, full-time SkillBridge internship prepares transitioning service members for entry-level roles in drone assembly, maintenance, and technical support. Interns gain hands-on experience building and repairing FPV drones, conducting diagnostics, and supporting customer and product inquiries. The program emphasizes deep knowledge of drone components, troubleshooting procedures, and effective communication with end users. Graduates are equipped to work in drone manufacturing, repair, customer support, or field technician roles in both commercial and defense sectors.
The FPV Drone Technician is responsible for assembling, repairing, testing, and maintaining small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS), with a focus on First-Person View (FPV) platforms. This position supports internal development, quality control, and customer-facing technical support. Interns will work hands-on with soldering tools, diagnostic equipment, and FPV components (flight controllers, ESCs, motors, frames, antennas, VTX/receivers, etc.). They will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform bench tests, and document product performance. The role also includes assisting customers with product recommendations and post-sales support. This position provides foundational experience for careers in drone manufacturing, UAS field maintenance, and product support engineering.
Applicants should have a foundational understanding of FPV drone systems and demonstrate hands-on experience as hobbyists or builders. Preference is given to service members who have performed UAS operations, maintenance, or technical support roles during their military service. Ideal candidates are passionate about drone technology, eager to refine their technical skills, and interested in supporting both internal operations and customer-facing product support in a fast-paced startup environment.
