Barnett Engineering & Signaling Laboratories LLC (BESL) offers motivated, qualified individuals a 12-week SkillBridge internship opportunity in the field of Systems Engineering with a focus on Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Internship applicants must have successfully completed a BS Systems Engineering, or, are currently enrolled and are actively pursuing completion of a BS or, higher degree in Systems Engineering or, STEM equivalent. The Systems Engineering Intern will gain hands-on experience in the DOD federal contract environment, learning key engineering processes, requirements development, and tracking. The role involves applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, and NextMidas Signal Processing. Interns will also explore AI models for Digital Signal Processing, SATCOM fundamentals, antenna properties, and the electromagnetic spectrum, while completing full-stack development tasks using Angular and initiating security clearance procedures.
Barnett Engineering & Signaling Laboratories LLC (BESL) is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to take on Systems Engineering (Level III) responsibilities in support of mission system design, implementation, and maintenance of SATCOM systems. Key responsibilities include providing SATCOM engineering, electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation, and geolocation services. This initiative aims to optimize satellite communications, enhance infrastructure, and reduce electromagnetic interference to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations. Other duties for this position include life-cycle support, troubleshooting, and inspections. Requirements- Possess a firm understanding of satellite network architectures and design concepts - Experience performing link budget analysis and frequency planning - Ability to integrate and test SATCOM terminals, modems, ground station equipment- Possess a firm understanding of troubleshooting and diagnostics techniques - Possess a firm understanding of radio frequency and signal flow- Must have experience and familiarity in SATCOM or space electromagnetic warfare- Possess experience in the detection, analysis, and mitigation of RF interference- Possess experience in geolocation of interference using advanced signal processing techniques to coordinate interference resolution and recommend countermeasures - Experience with Agile and/or DevOps project management styles.- Excellent written and oral communication skills- Must be a U.S. citizen- Must possess or able to achieve and maintain a DOD Security clearance.
