SkillBridge Opportunity: DevOps EngineerLocation: Princeton, NJ (On-site 3 days a week)About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team and support the development and maintenance of cloud-based applications in a secure, high-performance AWS environment.In this role, you will assist with building, automating, and maintaining application infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps principles. You’ll work with senior engineers to implement best practices and ensure compliance with security standards, including FedRAMP guidelines.This position is ideal for someone with foundational AWS experience, a passion for automation, and a desire to grow their skills in cloud architecture and continuous integrationwithin collaborative Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities:• Assist in building and maintaining secure, reliable AWS-based environments for applications.• Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform under guidance.• Help configure and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflows.• Work with AWS services such as Lambda, RDS/Aurora, SQS, SNS, S3, DynamoDB, and EKS to support application functionality.• Participate in deploying, scaling, and monitoring application infrastructure across development and production environments.• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline build, integration, and release processes.• Apply best practices for security, reliability, and cost efficiency based on AWS Well- Architected principles with team support.• Configure and monitor systems using AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, and related observability tools.• Assist in implementing deployment strategies like blue/green or A/B testing for smooth releases.• Contribute to improving automation, tooling, and operational processes across the DevOps lifecycle.Required Qualifications:• AWS Certification (Associate or Professional level) is required / highly preferred (e.g., DevOps Engineer – Professional, Solutions Architect).• Hands-on experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform for infrastructure automation.• Expertise in GitLab CI/CD or similar tools for pipeline design and deployment orchestration.• Strong practical knowledge of AWS services including Lambda, RDS/Aurora, SQS, SNS, S3, DynamoDB, and EKS.• Experience managing serverless and containerized applications in production.• Solid understanding of networking, IAM, and AWS security best practices.• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.Preferred Skills:• Understanding of SecDevOps principles and compliance automation in AWS.• Experience with tools such as SonarQube, Artifactory, or NodeJS build management (npm/yarn).• Background in Agile development and collaborative DevOps culture.• Big Plus: Familiarity with FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST SP 800-53 frameworks and security control alignment.
